AMM Empowers Local Talent to Support Economic Development in East Luwu through the Vale Site Development Program

PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM) Site Vale officially launched the Fresh Operator Development Program (FODP) and Fresh Mechanic Development Program (FMDP) Batch 1 on Wednesday (July 29). The launch marked the beginning of a series of competency development programs designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the workforce and pursue careers in the mining industry.

The opening ceremony was attended by Head of the East Luwu Manpower Office Joni Patabi, PJO of AMM Site Vale Ahmad Maulana Ibrahim, Towuti Police Chief Iptu Asmin Mariong, Tole Village Head Talha, Libukan Mandiri Village Head Sahril, Mahalona Village Head Kadr, Kalosi Village Head Bakrie, and Buangin Village Head Muhajar Muchlis. During the event, Ahmad encouraged participants to approach every stage of the program with discipline, openness to learning, and a commitment to continuously improving their capabilities.

“This program is not only about gaining work experience, but also about building your competencies and preparing yourselves to become professionals. Make the most of every learning opportunity and use this experience as a stepping stone to keep growing,” said Ahmad Maulana Ibrahim.

Following the opening ceremony, participants will undergo several stages of development, including Mental and Physical Development Training (Bintalsik), In-Class Training and Gerdas, evaluations, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) at AMM Site Vale. The program is designed to strengthen technical capabilities while developing discipline, a professional mindset, and participants’ readiness to work in the mining industry.

The participants’ departure for the Bintalsik program was an emotional moment, as parents accompanied their children with prayers and tears as they left home to begin the program. The moment marked the beginning of a new journey for the participants as they gained experience, knowledge, and skills to prepare for the workforce.

FODP and FMDP Batch 1 are specifically intended for East Luwu residents holding East Luwu identity cards (KTP), with priority given to participants from the Mahalona Raya area and East Luwu. The programs form part of AMM Site Vale’s commitment to creating development opportunities for local talent in and around its operational areas.

Through these programs, AMM Site Vale aims to prepare a skilled, competitive, and field-ready local workforce. Early-stage competency development is expected to equip participants with relevant skills while creating broader opportunities for young people in the local community to grow and pursue careers.
