For the Third Time, PPA Wins the Best Trophy at the GMP Award 2024

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) has again won recognition for its dedication to applying Good Mining Practices (GMP). At the 2024 Application of Good Mineral and Coal Mining Engineering Principles event, or GMP Award 2024, PPA received the Best of The Best Trophy in the Standardisation Management and Mineral and Coal Mining Services Business category for Mining Services Business Licence Holders, from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

PPA posted the highest score among the 78 companies that won a GMP Award in the Mining Services Business Licence Holder category. This is the third time PPA has won the GMP Award's best trophy, having also taken it in 2022 and 2023.

PPA Operations Director R. Teguh Saptosubroto, who attended, said the award recognises the company for running responsible and sustainable mining operations, and is the result of hard work by the whole PPA team and its partners.

"Kami mengucapkan Alhamdulillah PPA meraih Trofi Terbaik untuk ketiga kali berturut-turut, ini menjadi motivasi bagi kami untuk terus mempertahankan dan meningkatkan standar tertinggi dalam operasional pertambangan yang berkelanjutan," said R. Teguh Saptosubroto after receiving the award.

At the event, held at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta on Wednesday (24/09/2024), PPA won four Aditama awards — for PPA site Adaro Indonesia, PPA site MLP, PPA site Bukit Asam and PPA site Borneo Indobara. PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM), PPA's subsidiary, won one Aditama (Gold) Award for AMM site BIB, two Utama (Silver) awards for AMM site ABP and Site MHU, and one Pratama (bronze) Award for AMM site MIFA.

In his remarks, the Director General of Mineral and Coal at ESDM, Dr. Ing. Tri Winarno, expressed his appreciation to PPA and the other mining companies that have applied good mining principles.

In his view, the award is expected to motivate everyone in mining to keep raising operational standards that put human safety, environmental protection and a positive contribution to country and community first.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, S.E., M.Si. also thanked mining companies for their contribution to state revenue. He stressed the importance of paying attention to post-mining management and upholding good mining principles so that mining operations are sustainable.

With this award, PPA further cements its position as a mining services company focused not only on production but also committed and responsible towards occupational safety, the environment and the communities around its operating areas.

The Good Mining Practice Award is an annual event held by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to recognise mining companies that apply good mining engineering principles.

The award recognises companies' efforts to uphold mining practice with occupational safety, environmental protection, mineral and coal conservation, technical management and the application of mining services business standardisation to the fore.
