PPA Basketball Team Wins Mining Basketball Championship 2026

The PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) Group basketball team clinched the championship title at the Mining Basketball Championship (BMC) 2026, held at GOR Soemantri, South Jakarta. Adding to the achievement, Kurniawan Ariesandi and Bayu Aji Wicaksono, PPA Group players wearing jersey numbers 2 and 5, were named MVP and Top Rebounder, respectively. The achievement reflects the spirit of togetherness, sportsmanship, and teamwork that continues to grow across PPA, both within and beyond its operational areas.

PPA secured the championship title after defeating CK in the final on Saturday (August 1), with a final score of 59–36. The victory concluded PPA’s run throughout the tournament, from the preliminary rounds through the semifinals, held from July 28–31, 2026, at the same venue.

Throughout the tournament, the PPA basketball team delivered a consistent performance. In the preliminary rounds, PPA defeated Cipta Kridatama 35–32, LX International 43–14, and Petrindo 24–18. PPA then secured its place in the final with a 50–33 victory over Indexim in the semifinal.

The team’s journey to the championship podium was supported by the strong support of the PPA Group family. Supporters from the Head Office and various PPA sites were present at the venue to cheer the team on throughout the matches. The team also received support from PPA management, including Director of Legal, Business Development & Corporate Communication Muhammad Affan; Director of SCM & People, Culture & Performance Fathul Muin; and Director of Operations of PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM), a member of PPA, Arif Rahman, who attended the preliminary and final matches to support the team. Meanwhile, PPA Operational Division Head Koko Prayitno and AMM Site SBS PJO Andri Noparizal joined the team on the court throughout the tournament.

“This was our first time participating in the MBC, and in 2026, we managed to become champions. Next year, we have to do even better!” said Andri enthusiastically after the medal ceremony.

The achievement is particularly meaningful as all players representing PPA at BMC 2026 are PPA employees from various sites and the Head Office. PPA employees who did not participate as players also joined from the stands, creating an energetic atmosphere and cheering the team on. The participation of PPA Group employees, both as players and supporters, demonstrates how the culture of collaboration, discipline, and continuous improvement fostered in the workplace is also reflected in sporting activities.

Despite coming from different work locations, everyone worked together exceptionally well to bring the championship title home for PPA.
