PLDP BATCH V PHYSICAL & MENTAL TRAINING COMPLETE, PARTICIPANTS READY TO ENTER THE TRAINING STAGE

The closing ceremony of the mental and physical training of the PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) Leader Development Program (PLDP) Batch V, held at the Army Engineers Education Centre (Pusdikzi), Bogor, took place on Wednesday (7/12).

The closing ceremony, attended by PPA HCGA Director R. Teguh Sapto Subroto and PPA Operations Director Joko Triraharjo along with a line-up of PPA management, featured several demonstrations of the skills learned in training and ended with a group photo of the directors and all PLDP Batch V participants. After a month of mental and physical training at the Army Engineers Education Centre, the participants are now ready to undergo 3 weeks of training at site BIB before being placed at their respective sites.

PLDP Batch V, for which registration opened in August 2022, formally began on Thursday (10/11) with an opening ceremony attended by PPA HCGA Director R. Teguh Saptosubroto, and was joined by 86 selected participants from 20 bachelor's and diploma-level disciplines from universities across Indonesia, among them Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, Psychology, Geological Engineering and Public Health.

PLDP is one of the training programmes of PPA Akademi, first held in 2020 as an effort to develop, in-house, outstanding and competent people who carry the PPA work culture and are ready to step straight into the mining world, through training for fresh graduates. To date PLDP has produced roughly 300 PPA cadres at supervisor / group leader level.

"Peserta akan dilatih mental dan fisik, setelah itu akan belajar tentang pertambangan, business process PPA dan budaya kerja di PPA. Kemudian akan ditraining di jobsite didampingi oleh mentor/pengawas," explained Dede Andarso, Head of HCGA Division, when met at his office on Monday (11/11)

To give more fresh graduates an equal opportunity to work in mining, alongside PLDP for bachelor's and diploma fresh graduates, PPA Akademi also runs the Fresh Operator Development Program (FODP) for operator roles and the Fresh Mechanic Development Program (FMDP) for mechanic roles, aimed at fresh graduates of senior high school, vocational school or equivalent. PPA Akademi's Leader Development Program is also an expression of one of PPA's missions: to produce outstanding people in the mining field.

"Setelah semuanya settle, rencananya, program leader development ini akan digelar rutin setiap 6 bulan sekali," said Dede.
