PPA Achieves ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System Certification, Proof of its Commitment to Sustainable Energy

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) jobsite PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) achieved ISO 50001:2018 certification for its Energy Management System. The certification is proof of PPA's commitment to applying an integrated energy management system aimed at achieving continuous improvement in energy performance, including energy efficiency, minimising its carbon footprint and sustainable energy use.
The ISO 50001:2018 Management System Certification Audit, integrated with the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 quality management systems and SMK3 PP 50/2012, was carried out on 22–31 January 2024 at the PTBA Jobsite. The audit results showed that PPA was recommended for certification with a score of 92.16%.
"Pencapaian ini merupakan hasil kerja keras dan komitmen seluruh tim PPA dalam menerapkan sistem manajemen energi yang efektif dan efisien," said Agung Budiarto, Operations Manager of PPA Jobsite PTBA.
PPA's efforts to improve energy efficiency at the PTBA Jobsite are demonstrated by reaching an energy saving target of 25% in 2023, far exceeding the initial 10% target. This was achieved through a range of flagship programmes, such as:
- Installation of payload indicators
- Installation of idle stop system indicators
- Provision of Blasting Material
- Addition of racor fuel filters
- Bucket Upsizing (HD)

The application of an integrated management system at PPA Site PTBA is an expression of PPA's commitment to keep improving energy performance and contribute to creating a more sustainable environment.
