Supporting the Local Workforce, PPA Launches the Mechanic & Operator Training Programme at Site PTBA

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) launched and sent off the participants of the Fresh Operator Development Program (FODP) and Fresh Mechanic Development Program (FMDP) 2026 at the PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Jobsite, Muara Enim, South Sumatra, on Wednesday 3 June 2026. The programme is part of the company's commitment to raising the quality of local human resources ready to compete in the mining industry.

The event, held in the Ballroom of Hotel Melio, Muara Enim, was attended by a representative of the Muara Enim Regency Government, Juli Jumantan Nuri, S.E., a representative of the Mine Technical Head (KTT) of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Sugandhi Syarief, the Head of Lawang Kidul District Zhulchaidir Sidik, S.STP., M.Si., members of the regional leadership forum, village heads and lurah across Lawang Kidul District, and PT Putra Perkasa Abadi's management led by PPA Operations Director R Teguh Sapto Subroto.

In his remarks, Juli Jumantan Nuri expressed his appreciation to PPA for consistently opening opportunities for local young people to obtain education and training relevant to the needs of the mining industry. In his view, the programme is a concrete step in preparing a competent younger generation ready to enter the world of work.

Sugandhi Syarief, meanwhile, affirmed that developing local human resources is an important factor in supporting the sustainability of the mining industry. He voiced his support for the programme PPA runs because it aligns with the effort to create a workforce that is competent, of good character, and holds a strong safety culture.

PPA Operations Director R Teguh Sapto Subroto said FODP and FMDP aim not only to produce a workforce that excels technically, but also to shape character grounded in the company's six core values.

"Melalui program ini, kami ingin mencetak generasi muda yang kompeten, berintegritas, disiplin, serta memiliki budaya keselamatan yang kuat sehingga mampu menjadi tenaga kerja profesional dan memberikan kontribusi bagi pembangunan daerah maupun industri pertambangan nasional," he said.

The FODP and FMDP 2026 programmes are being taken by 20 of the best young people from Muara Enim Regency and the areas around the company's operations, all of whom passed a rigorous selection process. During the training period, participants will receive technical grounding in operating and maintaining heavy equipment, together with strengthening of character, work culture and occupational safety in line with mining industry standards.

Through this programme, PPA continues to strengthen its contribution to developing local human resources who are competent, professional and ready to face the challenges of modern mining.
