PPA Group Again Dominates the 2nd KFRC 2023

Palangkaraya, 10 June 2023 - The 2nd Kalimantan Fire & Rescue Challenge (KFRC) 2023 was successfully held in Palangkaraya from 3 to 10 June 2023. The event was joined by 22 teams from mining and energy companies across Kalimantan, plus one guest team. Participants competed across six events testing skill and proficiency in firefighting and rescue.

At the event, PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) won four gold medals. PPA excelled in the Wildland Firefighting, Road Accident Rescue, Firefighter Fitness Drill and Swift Water Rescue challenges. PPA also took 4th place in the High Angle Rescue challenge and 6th place in the Firefighter Competency Test. With that, PPA won the Overall Winner title. PPA ERT squad leader Hendrik also took the Best Captain title, making him its holder for two years running since the first KFRC in 2022.

PPA's subsidiary PT Antareja Mahada Makmur (AMM) also performed outstandingly. The team took 1st place in the High Angle Rescue challenge, 2nd in Wildland Firefighting, and 3rd in Road Accident Rescue and the Firefighter Fitness Drill. With those results, AMM took the 2nd Overall Winner title, alongside PPA as Overall Winner.

"Saya percaya bahwa ajang ini merupakan tempat yang sangat baik untuk mengasah kompetensi tim ERT PPA Group, dengan demikian kita dapat menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang lebih aman dan dapat memberikan bantuan yang lebih besar bagi negara ketika terjadi bencana," said Sujoko Martin, PPA Director, during the closing ceremony.

Praise also came from Sunindyo Suryo Herdadi, Director of Mineral and Coal Engineering and Environment at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal.

"Saya mengucapkan selamat kepada para pemenang yang berhasil menyelamatkan korban dalam waktu yang sangat penting. Pemenang sejati adalah mereka yang dengan benar dan tepat waktu melaksanakan langkah-langkah darurat untuk menyelamatkan korban tanpa mengorbankan keselamatan rescuer itu sendiri. Bagi saya, semua Tim ERT adalah pemenang," said Sunindyo.

The Kalimantan Fire & Rescue Challenge (KFRC) 2023 is a prestigious event for mining and energy companies across Kalimantan to show their skill and proficiency in handling emergencies, firefighting and rescue. It aims to strengthen cooperation and the exchange of experience between teams from different companies. KFRC also gives companies the chance to show their commitment to maintaining safety and security in the workplace.
