PPA Opens PLDP Registration at UGM Career Day

Bringing final-year students closer to the job market, the UGM Vocational School once again held SV Career Days 2023. The two-day Career Days event, on 10–11 May 2023, took place in the Co-Working Space of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) building.

Sekolah Vokasi UGM Career Days 2023 was organised by the Vocational Development Center (VDC) of the UGM Vocational School in cooperation with Level7 Indonesia. This time Career Days involved 22 partner companies, among them PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA), PT Ansaf Inti Resources, PT Riung Mitra Lestari, PT Human Protalent Indonesia, PT Abadi Teknologi Informasi, PT Kanmo Group, PT Prasetia Dwidharma, PT Alam Sutera Realty and Perusahaan Gas Negara.

Also taking part were PT Indonesia Epson Industry, PT Maybank Indonesia, Sekolah Pelita Harapan, BCA Insurance, PT Kalimantan Prima Persada, MR. DIY, PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia, PT Ega Tekelindo Prima, PT Huayou Nickel Cobalt, APRIL Group, PT Hartono Istana Teknologi (Polytron), PT Nawa Data Solution and PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park.

After earlier appearing at Universitas Diponegoro Semarang, PPA came to UGM Career Day with its PPA Goes to Campus programme. At the event, PPA opened a booth for job applications to the PPA Leader Development Program (PLDP) and also ran engaging games with PPA merchandise prizes such as PPA lanyards and mugs.

At the booth, visitors were free to ask PPA Recruitment staff on site about PLDP and PPA in general. The enthusiasm of UGM Career Day visitors was reflected in the number of applicants registering for a career at PPA: 372 applicants filled in the PPA PLDP registration form.

Dr.-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono, Dean of the UGM Vocational School, said the career days activity is deliberately held to bring final-year Vocational School students closer to the range of professions out there. Beyond internships, students are expected to make the most of the 22 partner companies present, with the possibility of landing a job.

"Saya berharap para mahasiswa SV UGM, khususnya mahasiswa tingkat akhir setelah lulus atau bahkan sebelum lulus bisa dapat langsung diterima kerja atau magang," he said, at the UGM Vocational School on Wednesday (10/5).

Alongside UGM's Vice Rector for Research, Business Development and Cooperation, Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo, M.M, the opening of Career Days at the UGM Vocational School 2023 was also attended by Sakri Warastrotomo, S.SoS., M.Si of the Sleman Regency Manpower Office, the school's leadership, and the heads of departments across the UGM Vocational School.

Around 2,000 students and alumni of the UGM Vocational School visited the 22 stands. Career Days also featured presentation sessions from company representatives about their companies and career prospects. More than a few company stands also ran engaging quizzes and handed out souvenirs to lucky visitors.
