PPA Receives an Environmental Award from the Regent of Tabalong

PPA is Committed to Supporting Regional Government Programmes on Environmental Management

PT Putra perkasa Abadi (PPA) Site Adaro received a certificate of appreciation for its part in the environmental field in Tabalong. The certificate was presented directly by the Regent of Tabalong Drs. H. Anang Syakhfiani after 86 participants held a ceremony in the grounds of Pendopo Bersinar, Tabalong, on Monday (12/06/2023).

The planting of hundreds of shade trees, held to mark World Environment Day 2023 under the theme "Solusi untuk Polusi Plastik" by the Tabalong Regency Government through the Tabalong Regency Environment Office, took place along Jalan Nan Sarunai, Simpang 4 Islamic Center area - Tanjung Selatan. The effort aims to realise Jalan Nan Sarunai as the Tanjung Green City.

"Saya berharap semua pihak mau terlibat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan serta pengurangan penggunaan plastic dalam kehidupan sehari-hari," said Anang in his remarks. Anang hopes this cooperation, which needs the support of private companies, can be continued to manage the environment at provincial and national level.

On this occasion, representatives of PPA site Adaro Tabalong Operations Manager Noor Akhmad and Akmal Maulana handed over tree seedlings consisting of croton, song of India and red shoot seedlings. A total of 86 participants planted seedlings along Jalan Nan Sarunai together with the Regent of Tabalong, the Adaro Mine Technical Head and the Tabalong Regency regional leadership forum. A further 1,400 fruit trees were also planted together at the event.

"Kami berkomitmen untuk selalu mendukung dan bekerja sama dengan pemerintah daerah dalam pengelolaan lingkungan hidup," said Suhernomo, Adaro Mine Technical Head.

Meanwhile, as part of PPA's commitment to reducing plastic use, PPA site Adaro Tabalong gave each of its employees one of 1,057 2L drinking bottles (tumblers) that can be used every day in place of single-use bottled water.

PPA is committed to keep supporting and contributing to Tabalong government programmes on environmental management in Tabalong and Indonesia.
