Quick Response to the Pasaman Earthquake, Putra Perkasa Abadi Sends its Emergency Response Team (ERT) to the West Sumatra Earthquake Site

Pasaman – PT. Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) once again shows its readiness to help areas affected by disaster. With thorough preparation, the PPA Emergency Response Team (ERT) headed for the main earthquake post at the West Pasaman Regent's office to coordinate on setting up a post together with ESDM Siaga Bencana.

The magnitude 6.2 earthquake that struck on Friday 25 February 2022 shook the West Pasaman area. Based on information from BNPB, there were 12 fatalities, 42 seriously injured, 346 lightly injured, and 6 people still missing. In the latest update on Tuesday, 1 March at 17:45 WIB, BNPB recorded 14,228 people forced to take shelter at 35 points across Talamau, Pasaman and Kinali districts and Pasaman Regency.

In response, the PPA ERT acted quickly, deploying joint rescue personnel to help evacuate earthquake victims at a number of points, among them Timbo Abu Village and Mudiak Simpang Village in Pasaman Regency.

Beyond that, PPA also set up a health post and sent a medical team to treat elderly residents, as well as providing trauma healing for children affected by the disaster at the shelter post.

This #PPAPEDULI activity is a collaboration between the PPA ERT and ERT ESDM Siaga Bencana aimed at post-disaster response under the direction of the National Disaster Management Agency.

Teguh Saptosubroto also expressed his thanks to ESDM for entrusting the PPA team to join in helping victims of the earthquake in Pasaman and West Pasaman.
